Working
with a chosen work provider you will gain the insight into
how the horse industry actually works. You will earn a wage
whilst learning the ropes from trained professionals. Once a fortnight
our freelance instructors will teach
you in practical and theoretical sessions. You will gain lots of
experience of riding different horses and seeing many varied aspects
of horse care, visiting many types of yard for your training days.
As part of your
course you will sit the BHS Riding & Road Safety exam
which is a vital part of understanding how we look after ourselves
and the horses on today's busy roads. You can also learn the essential
'First Aid at Work' (H.S.E).
Possible qualifications
to be gained through Skillseeker funding are SVQ level 2, SVQ level
3 & modern apprenticeship offering specialist units: riding,
stud, driving, fittening work & teaching. These qualifications
can lead to positions as: Groom; Instructor; Travel Groom; Stud
Groom or Assistant Yard Manager. There
